How Good is the Eazy Pod?

Cedar Lodge koi has been running the Eazy Pod since April 12th 2006
The systems consists of four 100 gallon tanks joined together and an Eazy Pod for filtration, gravity return through Aquamax 4000 pumps running “dry”
We have three identical systems so that our results can be averaged.
When we say running, we mean with water and fish (koi carp), not just re circulating so you can see how it works.
The media has been in contact with fish waste, and the fish are being fed their limit (100g) of feed a day.
The koi have generally had their full quota of food by 3pm and are still begging for more.
What about water quality?
The Eazy Pods where started up with mature media from our Nexus 300′s on the shop floor.
On day two, two systems had slight rises in ammonia levels, we cut their feed and did a water change, after four weeks we are still waiting for a nitrite rise but it has not happened.
All of the fish on the systems are looking bright, alert, and constantly looking for food.
There have been no parasitic infections.

How is the water clarity? The clarity is excellent, the Eazy Pod’s are working without UV’s in Cedar Lodge Koi because all sales tanks are indoors and the direct sunlight levels are low.
The tanks do get a little cloudy by the end of the day but this is from the feed rather than a lessening of water quality.
How do we rate the Eazy Pod at this stage?
In a word excellent, it does everything that it claims and more.
It tells you when it needs cleaning. How?
The media rises as it becomes overloaded with waste and when it lifts up between the three arms on the top of the unit it is ready to clean.
